Parekeet ?
I am new to birds and have had my two little pakekeets now since the 14th of February. I bought them a round top cage made for the parekeet, has the food and water bowls built into the cage walls. I also added a cuttle bone, honey stick, and a hanging toy with wood beads and bell on it. what else can I do to make these guys happy? how can I get them trained to step up and come to me. thus far they are doing ok but many times I have to handle them from the floor as they do fly fall (wings are clipped) when I have the cage door open. I have gotten the one to sit on my shoulder for nearly a half hour and had placed my shoulder near the cage and he will walk in.
